Ducati / Guzzi parts - interchangeable?

Hiya .. I am wondering if a Ducati monster's headlight can fit on a Guzzi V11 Sports? Kinda hard and expensive to get Guzzi parts where I am, but plenty of old monsters. Strangely, I heard that Ducati and BMW share the same round headlight!

some parts are interchangable...i suspect much would depend on the YEAR(s)

some items (like turn signals, in particular) are exchangable w/ some BUELL year(s)

as well.

 

We happen to own an M750, ill give some closer inspection to its light vs. my v11

but itll be a couple of days before i can look things over & possibly try to swap

one w/ the other.

 

again at best all i can offer is an EXACT comparison between two years & this might

not be helpful (dont know what year v11 you have)

The V11 Sport headlight is a Bosch one and can also be found at your BMW dealer

The answer is yes- both have a 7 inch Bosch unit.

 

I have a BMW R850R light on my naked Rosso Corsa which is also the same size.

I think the 2002 Scura has a bigger than 7" Bosch unit.

I found that the Bosch headlight bucket/headlight/reflector unit is the same part # for 1999-2004 V11 Sport as it is for 1973-1982 Laverda triples.

The Scura light, at least all I've seen, is smaller than the V11 Sport's. It is like that of the LeMans and Ballabio/Cafe Sport/Coppa. That's why it has that thick rubber gasket where it interfaces with the fairing.

So if one wanted to do one of these

7inch HID lights that RacerX put on his Jackal, a Scura bucket would do the trick.

Would the Scura Bucket fit the brackets that hold on the V11S bucket?

I really don't have money for this, but it would be nice to know if they are interchangeable.

If I went with HID, I might go with as big a bucket as I could find to hide the HID's coil and igniter.

No, I went from the smaller headlight to a bigger and the brackets aren't interchangeble

If you wanted to fit the larger headlight to a Scura, you could do so if you bought the brackets from a V11 Sport. Not cheap new though- about £70 each.

The reflector?

The Lens, aka the glass in front of the reflector?

The whole unit?

I have just bought this Ducati Monster carbon flyscreen for my V11. Is brand new and I got it half price.

Will hopefully fit!
