stormsedge Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I was reminded Monday that I was overdue to reglue the insulation to the bottom of my gas tank...a hard blast into traffic, with the front wheel a bit light was quickly followed by a personality change...cranky, wouldn't pull at all above 4K rpm. Since I heard no mechanical "music" besides that which has always been, I assumed my open filter had sucked the insulation from the bottom of the tank (again)(hard lesson: always assume the simplest first---it saves hours of setting the TBs, adjusting valves, tinkering with PCusb etc---like the last time). Limped the 12 or so miles home, dodging traffic on what now amounted to a 400+ pound Vespa. Once in the garage and cooled...lifted the tank to find the aluminum paper insulator laying on the filter face. 9 USD and a can of "spray glue...strong stuff" (Elwood Blues), I am back on the road and strong as ever. k
